Dr. Kathleen C. Quinn, Chief Healthcare Officer
Dr. Kathleen C. Quinn, Chief Healthcare Officer of Discovery Psychotherapy and Integrative Healthcare Centers and the National Sexual Trauma Center, holds a doctorate in Marriage and Family Psychotherapy (St. Louis University), and Master’s degrees in Women’s Health Nursing, WHNP, (Vanderbilt University), Theological Studies, Religious Education (Notre Dame Seminary), and Guidance and Counseling (University of New Orleans). In keeping with her educational background, Dr. Quinn works in three spheres of expertise. Her primary sphere of work is as a center director and practitioner in psychotherapy and women’s health, integrative medicine, inter-professional leadership and collaborative clinical decision making. In this capacity, providing transformational leadership to staff and in the larger community for governmental efforts to change conditions for abuse, violence, drugs and guns, homicide and youth services. This includes historically directing correctional facilities, teaching in law enforcement programs at LSU, as well as practicing and teaching progressive community education for healthcare, serving on pandemic and health committees for the state as well as post-Katrina for recovery, and serving as a first responder.
In a second sphere, she is working to develop and support innovative community relations for social justice, and public relations for the purposes of expanding programs, securing funding, and providing means for community education in mind/body wellness. Through serving on boards and providing organizational development, consulting, service there has been counsel to governmental and non-governmental agencies. This has been part of Discovery Psychotherapy and the National Sexual Trauma Center goals. To educate wider communities, she developed radio and television programs in a variety of locations, wrote for local publications, published books, book chapters and written numerous journal articles within multiple areas of expertise.
The third sphere, is as curriculum designer for online and grounded nursing education programs. The most recent ten years spent as a transformational leader in nursing education creating innovative nursing education programs, achieving accreditation and approval, while serving in progressive responsibilities for curriculum and instructional multimedia design, faculty development and program implementation utilizing mindfulness/stress reduction and holistic practices. Dr. Quinn is an international teacher/speaker and presents nationally and internationally in innovative education.
